Titanium dioxide (TiO2) membranes on glasses were prepared by sol-gel method. Raman and AFM spectroscopies mainly characterized them. The catalytic activity was tested in the degradation of phenol as a model compound. It was shown that all TiO2 membranes had good photocatalytic activity and the influential parameters such as the phenol concentration, the particle size and the adding amount of ZnO have been investigated.
